We are Jose and Silvia. We live in one of the communities along the Otay River Valley. We love to hike, jog and view the amazing wildlife here. As we explore the valley, we try to see and understand how the habitats and creatures interact and survive here. The purpose of this website is to share the beauty of the river valley with others.
eBird is one of the biggest citizen-science projects in the world. Organized by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, the online program helps people explore birds and birding hotspots around the world and in their neighborhoods. We are happy to participate with them and encourage others to do so as well. Your sightings help make important conservation decisions, support student research projects, and help inform bird research worldwide.
This online program is amazing and incredibly helpful. It helps you keep track of your encounters with all types of organisms, connects with experts who can help you identify the organisms you observe, learn about nature, helps scientist collect useful information and let's use be an active citizen scientist!

We love hiking, jogging, mountain biking, birding, walking our dogs, stalking our adult sons and traveling around the U.S., Canada and Mexico. Our idea of a fun Friday night is drinking a glass of wine in bed while watching 90-day Fiance and being fake-outraged.
