The Otay River Watershed covers 145 square miles (92,920 acres) in the southern part of San Diego County. The Otay River begins at the San Miguel, Jamul, and Otay Mountains and finishes it’s journey in the southern part of the San Diego Bay.
Otay, like the rest of San Diego, is a mediterranean climate with warm, dry summers and mild, wet winters . The average temperature is 63 ºF (17.2 ºC). The average daily high is 71 ºF (21.7 ºC) and the average daily low is 53 ºF (11.7 ºC). We get Santa Ana Winds that begin in the fall and can occur through the winter.
