The river valley is a wonderful place for the avid birder to spot great birds. The San Diego Audubon Society regularly schedules field trips to this area. The annual San Diego Birding Festival also brings people from all over the country and the world to this spot. If you come out here, it's a good idea to bring your binoculars because you never know what you might see.
Coyotes, foxes, bobcats and even mountain lions have be seen along the river valley.
The Horned Lizard, Orange-throated whiptail, and of course, the Southern Pacific Rattlesnake call Otay home. Stay on the trail and give these amazing creatures their space!
There is an incredible diversity of butterflies, dragonflies and other colorful bugs.
